ABOUT THE PROGRAMME

What is
MA Education (Advanced Standing)?

The MA Education (Advanced Standing) is a streamlined route to a full Master’s degree for those who already hold a recognised postgraduate qualification in education — such as our own Level 7 Certificate in Education. Delivered through ICE Global in partnership with Buckinghamshire New University (BNU), this pathway recognises your existing credits and expertise, allowing you to progress directly to advanced-level study rather than starting a Master’s from scratch.

Designed for educators who have already demonstrated postgraduate-level capability, this route reduces both the time and cost of achieving a full MA — while still delivering the same rigorous research training, critical inquiry, and academic recognition as the standard MA Education.

Who We Serve

Who Is it for?

This pathway is ideal for educators who already hold a Level 7 postgraduate certificate in education and want to convert that achievement into a full Master’s degree.

PGCert graduates

Holders of a 60-credit postgraduate certificate in education (such as our own Level 7 Certificate in Education) looking to progress directly into a Master’s.

Practising educators

Teachers and trainers who want to deepen their research capability and academic standing without repeating foundational modules already completed.

Lower Cost

Reduced module requirements mean a more affordable route to the same recognised Master's qualification.

Our value proposition

Why choose Why choose MA Education (Advanced Standing)?

MODULES

What will you learn?

Because your prior Level 7 study is recognised, the Advanced Standing route focuses on advanced research and specialist practice rather than repeating foundational modules.

  • Demonstrating Impact Through Research in Education (core)
  • Plus optional modules such as: Student Supervision and Assessment in Professional Practice, Contemporary Issues in Education, or Mentorships for Teachers
  • Postgraduate Dissertation (60 credits)

[Note: exact module titles, credit values, and options should be confirmed against BNU’s current programme specification before publishing — module names can be adjusted year to year.]
