Applicants generally need an undergraduate degree (typically 2:1 or above) with relevant professional experience, or — without a degree — significant experience in an appropriate profession plus evidence of readiness for Level 7 (postgraduate) study. Crucially, it’s essential you’re already working in an education-related or practice-education role, since the programmes are built around applying the learning directly to your own professional context. Prior study or professional experience can also be recognised through BNU’s Accreditation of Prior Learning (APL) process, which may exempt you from certain modules.
Our qualifications are awarded by Buckinghamshire New University (BNU) and Learning Resource Network (LRN) which are UK-recognised institution, and are benchmarked to the UK’s Framework for Higher Education Qualifications (FHEQ) at postgraduate Level 7 — a widely understood academic standard used to assess UK qualifications internationally. As with any UK degree, individual recognition can vary by country and employer, so we’d always recommend checking specific requirements for your context.
Yes. Programmes are available fully online, as well as through blended learning that combines live online sessions with in-person elements. Both routes include asynchronous independent study via BNU’s Virtual Learning Environment (Blackboard), so you can study around your existing work commitments either way.
